Liberia- February 27, 2025: In the midst of hardship rocking Liberia, the bishop of the Zion Christian Fellowship Int’l in Kakaka, Margibi County is seriously urging the government and people of the country to seek spiritual revival now.
He made the statement on Thursday February 27, 2025 at his agriculture site deep in the World Bank Community while in an interview concerning an on going revival at the church.
He stated: “If you look across the country, I’ve been doing some little investigation, you will get to know that people are down spiritually, the nation is down. I’m not only speaking from my own domain, concerning my own local church or investigation from Kakata City, across the country, you see that we need revival.”
He said revival is a general term so he is specifically talking about spiritual revival, emphasizing that the nation is down. Clarifying that he is not speaking politically, he added that from Liberia’s current economic situation, financially, people are fatigue.
Due to this, he noted that many people are no longer going to attend church services and programs but they spend more time finding survivability. He added that some people spend an entire day struggling to survive and at the end of the week, like on Saturday evening, such people go home to rest but they wake up Sunday morning feeling very tired to go to church.
He also spoke that about a two days ago, he followed a request from Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister asking the church to offer prayers for the nation.
He maintained that though people expressed different views when he further listened to one radio talkshow on the same issue, the minister’s request was made in the rightful direction.
He narrated that this is one of the reasons that caused the church to make a move now toward revival. He explained that the theme of the revival at the Zion Christian Fellowship Int’l is “Oh Lord, revive me” with text coming from Psalm 119 verses 107, adding further that the revival is a cry for the nation to God.
He informed this medium that the process which started on Monday February 24, 2025 will first help in reviving the Zion Christian Fellowship Int’l Church. Some members of other churches he noted are currently forming part of the revival that starts at 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM everyday.
