The Weala District, having over forty local churches serving under the United Methodist Church (UMC) under the auspices of the Liberia Annual Conference (LAC) is currently convening a weeklong district conference in Bong Mines-Fuamah District, Lower Bong County.
The conference which also marks the 27th annual session of the Weala District Conference is being held under the theme: “Stand Firm In The Midst Of The Storm” with Biblical Text taken from 1st Corinthians Chapter 15 verses 58 and reference from the Book of Daniel Chapter 3 verses 17 to 18.
The rationale behind the hosting of the conference is to keep the Methodist Churches in unity and create the platform through which the pastors will report on the workings of their various churches and regions considering progress and challenges.
Starting from January 13 to the 19, 2025, the conference is further held with the Bong Mines Region Churches of the UMC as host and co-hosts and having the Taylor United Methodist Church as a host church as the Rev Jacob Methuselah Sackie, in his capacity as the Weala District Superintendent heads the the activities.

Churches co-hosting the conference are the Nyeablai UMC, Fuamah UMC, Handii UMC and Gbamokollie-Ta UMC. Others include the Emmanuel UMC, Dein Gola UMC and Baytanla UMC.
The United Methodist Church in Liberia is led by Bishop Samuel Jerome Quite, Jr and he is scheduled according to the itinerary to be present during the second day on a Thursday January 16, 2025 as the first day is January 15, 2025.
