The Concern United Methodist Church (CUMC) in Liberia has launched an SOS call aimed at raising funds for the building of a one hundred and fifty-six thousand United States Dollars (US$156,000) School Project.
The church is appealing for support from all well meaning Liberians, members and supporters of the church, philanthropists, non-governmental organizations or NGOs etc to enable them build the junior high school project located in the James Dennis Farm Community situated in Weala, District #:5, Margibi County.
Making the passionate plead, the Weala District Superintendent of the Concern United Methodist Church, Rev Augustine S K Dakepine told reporters that the church has no other source of income apart from the CUMC Annual Conference Members’ meager resources.
He made the call at the 28th Weala District Conference of the Concern United Methodist Church, pleading with the media to assist them in making a clarion call to enable individuals and institutions of good will gestures go to their aid.
The building is therefore, at a stage where the first courses from the foundation level are being laid.
He says the cost of the project is about one hundred and fifty-six thousand United States Dollars (US$156,000), clarifying that it has no particular time frame set for implementation because the CUMC is yet to generate the budget meant for the full completion the building.
Rev Dakepine said the project is a junior high school project that is being supported by members of the Annual Conference of the Concern United Methodist Church.
In his assurance, he committed the leadership of the church to ensuring that it uses every cent raised for the building to be used for the purpose intended.
He added that they are deeply involved into development, building up manpower, infrastructure and organizing ministerial institutions.
In a related development, he buttressed the Concern United Methodist Church Bishop, Rev Alexander Dolo Kerkulah’s statement of reconciliation. He noted that their arms are opened to those who are distancing themselves from the United Methodist Church because of the ‘Regionalization Plan’.
