Despite government’s pronouncement of making available the sum of US$100,000 to each of the
representatives for district development purposes, Margibi County District #: 4 Lawmaker, Emmanuel O
Yarh has clarified that he did not receive a dime from government for the first one year of his leadership
for legislative developments.
While making his first district report to residents of his district in Compound along the Bong Mines Road
in Margibi County District #: 4, the lawmaker said all the projects reported by him were funded by his
office and the cooperation of people of his district.
According to him, though government announced US$100,000 to be given to each of the
representatives for district development purposes, he did not receive any funding from the government
for the year under review.
He made the statement on March 26, 2025 at the program with chiefs, elders, youth, women, the
police, local officials, the representations of the Margibi County Legislative Caucus, his political team and
many other people in attendance.
Making his report, he outlined several key developmental initiatives that he achieved for the year 2024
in Margibi County District #: 4.
The focus of the report is geared toward youth and women empowerment, adequate representation
and accountability, road constructions, rehabilitation and infrastructure development, honesty and
transparency as well as health and sanitation.
Major amongst his developments, he highlighted the purchase of a yellow machine and a truck for the
district to do road works, L$660,000 for women empowerment, Sherman Farm to Yeamen Road, the
graduation of about 402 young people from vocational training and remittance of portion of his salary
for support to the most vulnerable people in the district.
Others are the Lango Town/Hero Store Market, the Bong Mines Road Motorcyclists’ Terminal, Varyamah
Bustop, Bensville Latrine, cleaning of Kakaka City Streets and scholarship to hundreds of students across
the district.
The lawmaker also listed in his report many other projects and activities that he undertook in his district.
