A huge number of residents of the Lakayta Township in District Number Four of Margibi County seriously protested at the office of the Margibi County Superintendent against any attempt to make controversial Waymahquelleh Clan Chief Edwin K. Naimah the next Paramount Chief of the Kakaka Chiefdom.
A Partial View Of The Protesters

The Kakaka Chiefdom consists of the Lakayta, Cinta and Borlorla Townships respectively which covers nearly the entire upper Margibi County.
The protesters who carried placards denoting different counts against the clan chief haulted the program planned by Superintendent Victoria Wolobah Duncan to officially appoint and install Mr. Naimah at her office as Paramount Chief of the Kakaka Chiefdom which could also see him replacing the incumbent, Fahn G. Lepolu who is seriously sick at the moment and seeking medication.
As per the local government structure under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a paramount chief is highest in position or ranking than a clan chief, general town chief, town chief, quarter chief and other community leaders.
The scene at the Kakaka Administrative Building saw very old men and ladies, youth, elders, chiefs and many other stakeholders warning the superintendent not to make the mistake of elevating him from his position of a clan chief, a position through which he has sufficiently exhibited bad leadership over the years.

They also said that they don’t need him to lead them anymore, not even in a quarter chief position.
The embattled Waymahquelleh Clan Chief was heavily opposed when he was appointed as the Clan Chief of Waymahquelleh in the Lakayta Township of District Number Four during the George Weah’s Administration but the government then ignored the cries of the people and proceeded anyhow.
This medium has also being reliably informed that the county superintendent is pushing him to the position because he is the one she wants to work with no matter what the issues are against him, raised by the same people he wants to leads.
Some of the chiefs confided in this medium that the citizens had earlier informed the superintendent that they no longer want to work with Mr. Naimah but she told them that he is her interest so they must accept him.
At that point, they started discussing amongst themselves what next to do since the superintendent does not care about their well being but her personal interest.
While they were still in the process of deciding their next course of movement, they heard that the superintendent had organized an elaborate program to appoint and induct Mr. Naimah as the Paramount Chief.
This, they said means that the superintendent does not respect the citizens’ concerns and she cares nothing about their well being because she has the authority now.
A communication written to the office of the Margibi County Superintendent, Victoria Wolobah Duncan of which copy is in the possession of Throngtalk, the incumbent Kakaka Chiefdom Paramount, Fahn G. Lepolu told the superintendent that while seeking his medication, he trusts one of the general town chiefs from the Borlorla Township, Bondo Blackie to handle all the issues related to his office in his absence and act in his place.
One of the protesters who says he is not the official spokesperson of the group spoke on anonymity and remarked that the superintendent has reportedly said that the paramount chief does not have the right to appoint someone in his place, even though she too does not have the same right according to the local government act.
The name of the man being pushed by the superintendent is also amongst the list of clan chiefs who during a called meeting of chiefs supported the idea of Mr. Blackie acting while Mr. Lepolu seeks his treatment.
General Town Chief, Bondo Blackie

Some of the people are also arguing that Cinta and Lakayta have both produced paramount chiefs and as such, for the balance of authority, the current paramount chief must come from Borlorla Township, not from the same Lakayta, especially the purported controversial and wicked Waymahquelleh Clan Chief Edwin K. Naimah.
A majority of the people who held placards are individuals from the home town of Edwin K. Naimah and other parts of the Waymahquelleh Clan linking him to so many dangerous happenings which they claim he orchestrated against them.
While speaking in a very frustrated tone, many of the Waymahquelleh Clan Citizens explained that Mr. Naimah encouraged a Fulani, Idris Jalloh and his brother to break down the village of a Liberian and desecrate his mother’s three years old grave in the clan after which the Fulani was protected by Edwin K. Naimah who carried country devil to scare them from engaging the man.
Another thing is that he is accused of being responsible for the death of a boy who helped to take care of an old blind man after abandoning the boy when he ran into the boy with his motorbike along the Bong Mines Road.
The protesters of whom a majority were females (both old and young ladies) lamented that Mr. Naimah does just whatever that pleases him against them without any remorse.
They added that at one point in time, he collected the foot print of some of the citizens in a rice bag from the ground in one of the villages in the clan, took the dirt away and threatened to kill all of them so he reported to the Internal Affairs Ministry. He apologized and was seriously warned to desist from the act.
Meanwhile, they presented a petition seriously asking the superintendent not to impose Mr. Naimah against them as they levied so many things against him.
In their counts, the citizens accused Mr. Naimah of using his office to abuse peaceful citizens, hitting of a citizen identified as Nyahn with his motorbike in 2022 and abandoning him which ‘subsequently led’ to his death, the collection of the footprints of citizens of Wulah Town in 2024, and vowed to kill them.
In addition, the citizens also accused the local chief of always getting involve into illegal land sale, and has at the same time become land surveyor instead of performing his role as clan chief.
They continued that since his ascendency, Mr. Naimah had refused to unite the citizens with no development in the clan, while he allegedly master minded the demolition of a grave in Kolubah Village.
It was also alleged that the Clan Chief threatened a citizen identified as Ma-Esther Kollie that she will not live to tell the story should she be the cause of his removal from the position he is occupying.
“And whenever we the citizens are angry about these things, he always tells us that ‘goats and money gave his job;’ he will continue to raise his goats, because he will continue to give goats to his boss. He does everything at his own personal aggrandizement” the citizens alleged.
The citizens then craved that the superintendent to give them leaders that will reunite them stating that Waymaquelleh deserves better. They vowed that Mr. Naimah can never be given even a road side brushing job in the clan.
Receiving the citizens’ communication, Supt. Duncan lauded them for being calm in their engagement, assuring that she will peruse the document and plan a called meeting aimed at finding an amicable solution to their concerns.
When contacted, Mr. Naimah denied the citizens’ claims and termed them as false and misleading, but intended to tarnish his hard earned reputation.
