Margibi, Liberia, September 30, 2025: Margibians, particularly residents of the county’s fourth and fifth districts have commended Indian Businessman Upjit Singh Scehdeva or Mr. Jeety for creating employment opportunities and some forms of empowerment for them through his Jeety Rubber LLC and Salala Rubber Corporation or SRC in Margibi County.
There are currently more than 1,500 workers benefiting employment opportunities from Mr. Jeety in Margibi.
The workers are both contractors and employees from Weala and many other places in Margibi and Liberia.
They voiced out their appreciations to Mr. Jeety recently during a meeting organized by the county authorities to understand the issues they are faced with.
The gathering hosted at the Weala Public School where the county administration was fully represented along with people from Weala and its nearby communities, Richard-ta, Jennita, Konoquelleh Clan, Gborpaye Town, Gbenduaway, Sawmill, Bullorquelleh, SRC Belt and many other places created the platform for people to freely say what’s on their minds.
The meeting was meant to hear from the residents regarding situations related to their living conditions in those regions of the county.
During the meeting, while speaking, some of the people recalled that Mr. Jeety has created jobs for a lot of people in the area, is taking the full responsibility of some of their children’s schooling, has electrified their areas and is doing some other forms of empowerment.

Tamba Alfred of Gborpaye Town along the German Camp Road said their community engaged Mr. Jeety through the office of the Cinta Township Commissioner, Samuel Ketteh so the commissioner played his leadership role by arranging a meeting between Mr. Jeety and the area where the Indian Investor promised a lot of things that have already being done.
According to him, “Now, we got LEC to our area, we got safe drinking water there, we got street lights there and Jeety put 126 students on scholarship from our place. He registering them, he paying their school fees, he paying for the PE suit, everything!”
He said some of the people are raising issues with him for appreciating Mr. Jeety but he has clarified to them that the man is doing a lot of things for them and needs an applause.
He also thanked the commissioner for intervening on their behalf to Mr. Jeety.
He says though he recognizes that there are problems in other communities that Mr. Jeety has not handled yet, henceforth, he should be lauded for what he has done to improve the people’s livelihood.
Mr. William Siaffa, the General Town Chief of Section #: 3 in Wiah Clan said though they may not be benefiting from the Jetty Rubber LLC directly in their area, but others related to them are benefing, therefore, it means they are indirect beneficiaries of Mr. Jeety.
“Within this Wiah Clan, Jetty came here, he’s working here, we accepted him, he is doing well but I think it should be all over,” Joe Johnson of Weala stated.
He further said Mr. Jeety is working with them in the area and has not gone against them.
The former Cinta Township Commissioner, Roland S. Johnson who is also a beneficiary of Mr. Jeety’s good works and an employee of the Jeety Rubber LLC said since Mr. Jeety went in that part of the country, there are a lot of good things that have taken place to benefit the citizens.
Mr. Johnson added that currently, Mr. Jeety’s company is building the biggest eye clinic in Weala.
He explained that Mr. Jeety took over 300 residents from Weala and its environs to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital or JFK in Monrovia for advanced treatment along with their feeding, lodging and transportation.
He continued that there is a regular feeding program for the children that takes place every evening in Weala sponsored by Mr. Jeety and that the streets are lighted from the German Camp Junction area to Weala Town by Mr. Jeety.
He says Mr. Jeety also ensured a little girl whose mother ran to a lot of places seeking help for her daughter’s medical attention was again taken to the JFK Hospital.
About fourty-two towns and villages around Weala and the SRC saw Mr. Jeety making available solar lights in their areas and he normally identifies with the people whenever the festive season comes.
Another thing Mr. Johnson stressed is that Mr. Jeety called eminent people in the area and identified with them as he is even carrying on employments in the area.
As part of his social responsibility, he noted that Mr. Jeety is set to give US$10,000 to Margibi for two years, the amount he stated is meant for scholarship.
The focus person of the National Civil Society Council in Margibi Districts 4 and 5, Osie Tutu Gbassakollie in a conversation with our reporter said he acknowledges the fact that Mr. Jeety’s presence in the area is buttressing government ‘s efforts. as it is incumbent upon the company to give corporate social benefits.
According to him, there is no doubt that Mr. Jeety is doing some engagements in the communities like providing safe drinking water, the provision of scholarship etc but he wants Mr. Jeety channel his initiatives that fall under social benefits through the local authorities to avoid procedural errors.
A chief elder from Gibi District also made an appeal to Mr. Jeety to extend his developmental initiatives to the district.
He disclosed that there are more than 17 rubber farmers in Gibi who are struggling, emphasizing the need for Mr. Jeety to partnership with them to enable them get the benefit from his gestures as they could also be supplying him with rubber.
In a related development, Mr. Jeety serves hot meals at the SRC Plantation every Sunday.
