Drawing very close to the 2024-2025’s edition of the National County’s Sports Meet in Liberia, Maryland County Kickball Team camping in the City of Kakaka, Margibi County has outlined some major challenges the team is faced with.
Majority of the players are from Margibi and Montserrado Counties.
Throngtalk News Bureau Microphone had gone to the camp where the kickballers, about 15 in number and their officials are hosted when the challenges were uncovered.
Maryland Kickball Team Captain, Yassah Miller

The Team Captain, Yassah Miller who said they are moving on gradually expressed the need for mattresses and finance to get other things that the team needs to move ahead.
According to her, they are strangers who were assisted by someone with the building that is housing them but the conditions for sleeping is unfavorable for them.
She said though they have food to eat and some other things on course, there is a need for the officials related to Maryland and people wanting to sponsor them understand that they are in Kakaka and need some level of attention as they prepare to move to Bong County.
Captain Yassah Miller added that they are currently practicing at the 14th Road Sports Pitch. She also told our news bureau that they were earlier on in Kakaka for about three weeks but they took a break when the county’s sports meet was postponed.
She believes that the officials of the county will lend support when the boys and girls teams are together.
Maryland Kickball Team which is expected to play Bomi, Bassa and Bong in their upcoming kickball matches in Bong during the official county’s meet games say they will depart Kakaka this week.

Also speaking, the head coach of the team, Costello Garteh said there are currently about 15 girls on camp in Kakaka with four more anticipated to join their colleagues from Maryland County. He spoke that as it stands, the team needs support from the county like players’ feet wears and other wearings.
He said his team is ready to qualify from the zone and his players are from various club teams.
He called on the stakeholders and officials of Maryland to feel relaxed and give their assistances to the team as the team is about to make them very proud in the county’s sports meet.
