Sackie Z Traub, a resident of Salala City in Lower Bong County who suffered from hernia for about 17 years (2007 to 2024) has lauded the Taongi National University or TNU for taking the full responsibility for his surgery.
The surgery was conducted lately December 2024 at the Kakaka Health Center bringing relief to Mr Traub who was under a very critical condition at the time of the intervention by TNU through the institution’s president and provost, Dr Mike Mike Sonpon.
To do the surgery of the hernia, Sackie Z Traub told Throngtalk News Bureau that, the cost was a lot of money that he could not afford but Dr Sonpon quickly intervened to save his life upon knowing about the situation.
The cost of the surgery is placed at US$225, according to the Taongi National University or TNU.
A hernia is the abnormal exit of tissue or an organ, such as the bowel through the wall of the cativity in which it normally resides.
He said he suffered from the sickness for about 17 unbroken years dating as far back as 2007 and he has been experiencing some complications along the way.
Sackie who looked very lively at the time of the interview expressed great delight in his current health condition and appreciated the Taongi National University.
Expressing words of commendation, he thanked Dr Sonpon, TNU and partners to the University for spending up to US$225 for his treatment.
He said he was advised not to do any hard work and have sex for about three months to avoid the hernia from reoccurring. He narrated that he has informed his family back home that he has been advised not to get involved with hard work and they embrace the idea.
In a related development, Sackie Z Traub is also calling on philanthropists, non-governmental organizations, well-meaning Liberians and government to come to his aid for further support that will help to sustain him while he is observing his health for the three months.
