The group stage of the 2024/2025 National County’s Sport Meet has ended with seven counties dropping and eighty making it to the Samuel Kayon Doe sports Pitch for the quarter finals stage.
The counties qualified are Lofa, Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Gbarpolu, Bong, Maryland, Grand Cape Mount and Margibi while the counties that did not make it include Grand Kru, Grand Bassa, River Gee, Montserrado, Bomi, Sinoe and River Cess.
The teams were placed in four groups with venues in Bong Grand Gedeh, Grand Cape Mount and Sinoe Counties. Three of the host counties qualified and one dropped.
Established during the year 1956 in Liberia, the County’s Sports Meet is organized by the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Internal Affairs as a national symbol of reconciliation and unity in Liberia.
The game is considered by many Liberians as a political, traditional and financial sporting competition.
The quarter finals will last from January 25-26, 2025 at the Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex. The semifinals will be January 29 and the grand final is expected to be February 2, 2025. Keep following Throngtalk News Bureau for further updates.
