The Superintendent of the Gompa District Conference of the United Methodist Church, Rev. Ebenezer Belleh has warned United Methodists not to allow themselves to be dragged to Hell by others.
Delivering a noon day sermon at the 27th Annual Session of the Weala District Conference LAC/UMC in Bong Mines, Bong County over the weekend, the Gompa UMC District Superintendent told the gathering that it is not the name of Church that can carry people to Heaven.
Rev. Belleh warning comes in the wake of growing tension amongst United Methodists over the news of the signing of gay document by the Bishop of the Church, Liberia area, Samuel J. Quire especially in regards to regionalization plan.
The United Methodists believe that the regionalization plan is intended to allow same sex marriage to take place in the Church in Liberia something the Chairperson on regionalization, Caleb S.G. Dormah denied.
But Rev. Belleh, in his sermon, spoke expressing his belief that the United Methodist Church that some of them joined more than 20 years ago, has turned to be different in 2025 with people saying the Bible is no longer relevant.

The man of God averred that human feelings are being satisfied as opposed to the Bible thereby declaring the practice of homosexuality as being good.
He mentioned that people who once told others to do Bible study on some scriptures such as the Book of Titus which says ‘any doctrine that is in contrast to the Bible’ should be fought against.
Rev. Belleh stated that he checked in the Bible and did not see the names Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal and many others adding that he only saw people who will do the will of God.
The Liberian Clergy said he believes that if the American People bring the issue of same-sex marriage in Liberia and offer the Liberian Legislature with money, they will pass it, noting that when that is done, the names of the Bishop, the District Superintendent and the pastors will be there.
Rev. Belleh: “And your children will ask your, papa at the time I saw clerical on your neck what did you say or what did you do”.
According to him, the situation the three Hebrew Boys faced during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar, United Methodists are now facing their own of the crisis.
“When the Church changes from being a Christian Church to a circular Church, leave it, move from there, the two cannot work together except they agree” Rev. Belleh admonished United Methodists.
The man of God narrated that this is the time for United Methodists to know whether their pastors and district superintendents are pretending or they are actual.
