According to him, their institution has been into charity for about 29 years now and still stands to do more for Liberians in helping to better their lives. Also in a separate conversation with Throngtalk News Bureau, he explained that there are medical supplies for health centers and support for the ‘Group of 72nd’ that will be given to the beneficiaries early this year.
Mr Yancy who declined to pronounce the financial cost attached to their donations this year also noted that it is not because they don’t have huge financial value but it is about charity.
It is however reported that the entire donations by WACSN this year to people and institutions in Liberia are more than 75,000 United States Dollars.
“The West African Children Support Network is a non-governmental organization that been existing in Liberia for over 29 years now. Our CEO is Madam Maria Luyken and she is the owner of Destiny. This is her way of giving back to the community, this is a free Christmas shopping. Nobody comes here and pays a dime,” WACSN Executive Director, Andrew Nelson Yancy stated during one of their donations.
He narrated that for the years they have operated the organization, they have impacted lives in the 15 sub-divisions of Liberia describing their CEO as a humanitarian who has been doing good for so many years.
He said they have also been supportive in healthcare and agriculture adding that when the go-slow action by health workers in Liberia is abated, the organization will be identifying with healthcare institutions in the country.
He described as meaningful and beneficial the items that will be given to the group of 72nd. He spoke that it is important to have WACSN making the said donations because Liberia is a poverty stricken society where not many people can afford to get the materials that are being shared.
He added that it is the idea of their CEO to make the donations which is meant to put smile on the faces of Liberians.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries who were all very happy appreciated the WACSN and pleaded with the CEO Luyken not stop her good deeds to Liberians.
