As part of challenges confronting the City of Kakaka, the city corporation leadership has lamented the difficulty of having only two tricycles to clean the city of about hundred thousand (100,000) residents.
The Kakaka City Mayor, Rev Gbarngawoe Eddie Seboe who broke the news to Throngtalk News Bureau on January 11, 2025 also stressed the need for sanitation materials for the city.
Explaining the difficulty, Mayor Seboe stated: “At the moment, the corporation is challenged! We only have two tricycles that we are using at the moment to make sure we do our work, which is not enough for almost 100,000 people living in Kakaka.”
He said sanitation materials are needed because the operations of the city corporation cannot continue to only be in the major streets of the city.
He noted that the city needs about two trucks, fifteen tricycles and a utility pickup, something according to him is a component of Kakaka City’s 2025 operational budget of about one million, six hundred thousand United States Dollars (1,600,000 USD) crafted by the leadership of the city.
The mayor believes that in making Kakaka a vibrant city, their budget and plans for the city must be achieved as he also disclosed the city corporation’s readiness to share the idea of the budget with stakeholders. He said he wants the city to be a vibrant city that can be run according to a 24 hours economy.
In a related development, Rev Seboe stated that they also are working on a business plan that will see investors coming to do investment in Kakaka, further noting that the leadership has already met some investors, though he did not mention the specific investors.
He continued that Kakaka does not have a supermarket so it will be prudent to have people coming to build supermarkets in the city as they are a part of what constitutes a city.
